Our week started with the inspiration of Elder Saa'kokoto and ended with the inspiration of a Winter walk in the Coulee. We enjoyed sharing our work with parents for our Celebration of Learning online. Thanks for participating!
Elder Saa'kokoto shared about the important people in his life who influenced him - like his grandmother who shared her stories with him, his grandfather who voluntarily served in the war, the leaders who influenced him including Chief Red Crow, his mother who nurtured him and his father who started his own business. Elder Saa'kokoto shared that leadership is "being kind, sharing and helping others."
In math we began learning long division with 2-digit numbers. We practiced the algorithm. In writing, we learned the elements of poetry in preparation for writing poems next week. In art, we learned cross hatching techniques for creating values in pen and ink.
We enjoyed a warm day in the Coulee gathering inspiration for our upcoming poetry writing.
We took photos for our upcoming artwork. We will be creating a landscape in pen and ink. We also heard the biographies of two men (Lawrence Loyie and John Audobon) who loved nature and in comparing them learned more about our history in Alberta.
