Dec. 7 - 11

This week, we enjoyed creating winter landscapes and poems for upcoming Winter Celebration. We learned how to use pen and ink techniques such as cross hatching to create various shades in a snowy landscape.  We studied and tried our hand at a variety of types of poems including Haiku, Diamante, Rhyming Couplet, Free Verse and Concrete Poems. We also recorded them. Read on to see a few examples!

We also enjoyed watching WALL-E.  We created posters to communicate a message about how to take care of the environment. Ask me to tell you what I learned about Waste in our World from this film.  In math, we reviewed all the operations and solved some word problems using 4 digit addition and subtraction, 3-digit by 1 digit multiplication and long division.  We started reading book clubs this week. Ask me about the book I read! I can also show you my IRIS artifact and reflection.
