Week of Jan. 18 - 22

Today we said goodbye to Mr. Jorgensen on Google Meet.  In our Tuscany Together meet we also saw two great presentations from the kindergarten students and the grade 3 students.                                                                          

In science,  this week we learned about rates of biodegradability and compared them even though we could not scale the numbers to fit on one graph!  We presented our Lifecycle diagrams of a product too!




In language arts, We continued to learn from Pixar experts how to develop characters and we started to develop more complex characters based on their internal and external characteristics, wants, needs and their world or setting.






We continue to learn new vocabulary from the class novel we are reading, as well as in math and science. We worked on some challenging math problems using fractions of a set!


We also started brainstorming a list of research questions for Genius Hour where we get to research a topic of choice!

Reminders: 

Playgrounds remain closed before and after school.  Adults and students must be masked on the school grounds.

Students should not be playing on snowbanks in the parking lot for safety reasons.

Valentines cannot be exchanged this year due to Covid protocols.  We will be embracing Valentine messages on bulletin boards inside the school instead.
