Week of Feb. 16 - 19
This week we were busy completing some work in progress to share for our Celebration of Learning which takes place Wed. Feb. 24! You are invited to see our current work. Please set aside time Wednesday evening to look at our work by going onto the computer (Google Classroom, google docs and Iris) with your child. Complete the tasks and give your feedback on the Google form provided.
Here's a sneak preview of our Character Posters from Pixar writing!
We have been reflecting on the experience of residential schooling that we have learned about in our novel studies: Fatty Legs and now the Graphic Novel, The Secret Path which tells the tragic story of Chanie Wenjack that led to an inquest into residential schooling for indigenous children. Ask me to tell you what I've learned about this sad part of Canadian history. Let me explain why reconciliation with indigenous peoples is important.
Visit the link (below) to hear the songs written and sung by Gord Downie and see the images created created by Jeff Lemire for the graphic novel.
